I would be very cautious if I were you. Have you checked the Florida Attorney General's website and their alerts about loan modification "assistance"? Go to www.myfloridalegal.com - you may qualify for one of the state's special mortgage assistance programs (assuming you are a FL resident).

They can evaluate your housing options, open lines of communication with mortgage lenders, negotiate a loan modification, and help you with household budgeting, all at no cost.
