My experience with this company has been IDENTICAL to that of the other posters (other than the bogus review that spoke about a 5-star hotel - that cannot be anything but a blatant lie).
The movers caused $6000 in damage to my home upon departure from Los Angeles in August 2010, destroyed a $1,600 flat screen television which they wrapped themselves and for which I will be compensated $30 by their insurance company, gave an estimate that ended up being 1/3 of the final bill and completely bullied me throughout the process, yelling at me and ultimately hanging up on me. The shipment did not arrive per the information initially promised by their own dispatcher and I waited for days in Utah while the shipment sat in Los Angeles because they clearly do not have their own trucks. Upon hearing that my shipment ultimately cost $18,000, every moving company I spoke with insisted that it was a significant enough shipment to have been handled exclusively and sent direct - and I know that my shipment was ultimately bundled with a shipment going to Denver afterwards and took over seven days to arrive from Los Angeles - which is 10 hours away by car. The worst part of the move, besides the outrageous damage done, the deception in the overcharges and the delivery timing was the unreliability of the communication. The dispatcher originally hassled me daily, calling more than 10 times to confirm my move with Lion but once they had my possessions, I could call them every day and 90% of the time, not a single person would answer the phone. Truthfully, as angry as I am right now (and I am seething when I think about this company), the fact is that I feel lucky to have my furniture at all, when reading the frighteningly similar experiences written here. If you are at all considering using Lion, run the other way as fast as you possibly can. It was the worst decision I have made in my lifetime - and that is not an overstatement.
